Revolution Players Collaborative Fund Grants $20,000 to Local Performing Arts & Social Change Organization “The Theater Offensive”

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Players Collaborative Fund has donated $20,000 to The Theater Offensive, a Boston-based social change organization focused on queer and trans people of color and their allies through the use of theater and the creative process as a cultural organizing tool. With this latest donation, Revolution players have granted $100,000 to grassroots organizations throughout the New England area that are working to promote social equity and dismantle systemic racism.

“Black Players for Change is thrilled to work alongside The Theater Offensive to uplift queer and trans people of color through liberating art,” said New England Revolution goalkeeper and Black Players for Change President and Co-Founder Earl Edwards Jr. “I’m excited for our collaborative fund to have reached the $100,000 donation mark as we continue to bridge society’s racial equality gap and we’re proud to stand as allies with TTO as they develop the next generation of leaders within their important movement.”

The mission of The Theater Offensive is to present liberating art by, for, and about queer and trans people of color that transcends artistic boundaries, celebrates cultural abundance, and dismantles oppression. Founded in 1989, TTO is building on more than 30 years of rich history of activism. The organization engages those most directly affected to be leaders at the forefront of the movement by telling their stories, while youth leadership helps amplify youth voices and support for youth of color to become the current leaders of the movement.
