Manchester United are the most interested Premier League club in Argentine starlet Facundo Farias, a report claims – but they are far from the only club competing for his services.
Farias made his senior debut for Club Atletico Colon De Santa Fe in November 2019, when he was just 17 years old. An attacking midfielder, he has amassed a total of 64 appearances and 10 goals for the club to date.
The teenager – who turns 20 in August – is now appearing on the radar of several European suitors. Many clubs are aware of his potential if he is ready for a big move.
Farias was recently linked with Liverpool; in fact, his agent admitted they want to buy him.
However, AS are now revealing that Manchester United are actually the most interested party from the Premier League when it comes to the battle for Farias.
But they have a battle on their hands, because a number of other clubs are queuing up across the continent.
There is particular interest in Farias’ services from Italy. In Serie A, he has become an option for Roma, Sassuolo and Udinese.
Interestingly, of the trio, it is the side managed by ex-United boss Jose Mourinho said to be most keen.
Elsewhere, Porto could try to take him to Portugal, or Paris Saint-Germain could give him a route into French football – at the advice of Lionel Messi’s father, Jorge.
The preferable options for Farias, the report claims, would be in England, Italy or France. That could put Porto at a disadvantage, while Argentine giants River Plate and Boca Juniors have already both suffered setbacks in their attempts to take him.
