The chairman of Serie A club Lazio, Claudio Lotito, claims to have received a huge £120million bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The central midfielder is being monitored by Manchester United officials as they prepare to bolster their midfield ranks this summer. This will be integral as Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic are both due to leave Old Trafford.
Milinkovic-Savic would be a great capture for the Red Devils. He is one of Lazio’s most important players, having registered 10 goals and 12 assists so far this term.
Milinkovic-Savic is also experienced on the international stage. He has reached 30 caps for Serbia and is due to represent them at the Qatar World Cup.
But a player of his quality will not come cheap in the current market. Reports claim it will take an offer worth £66m to convince Lotito to sell.
But the Lazio chief has seemingly refuted these claims during an interview with Rai Sport (via Sport Witness).
Lotito says a massive offer has come in for Milinkovic-Savic, although it is not about the money. Lotito will only sell his prized asset if the 27-year-old reveals his desire to leave.
“We always talk about money; I always talk about the technical-moral qualities of the players,” Lotito said.

“I respect Milinkovic-Savic very much, he can make a difference. I have a good relationship with him.
“If I were asked by a top team in the world, I would ask the player what he wants to do.
“In my club there is first human value and then the economic one. When I was made an indecent offer of €140m (£120m), I decided not to sell him.
