Christian Norgaard, Watford v Brentford April 2022

Brentford fan favourite Christian Norgaard has refused to rule out a transfer away from the club this summer and has vowed to “never say never”.

Norgaard has been the anchor of Thomas Frank’s team during their maiden season in the top flight.

The 28-year-old was signed in 2019 from Fiorentina and has been one of their star players since arriving.

He’s cemented himself as a top quality player and has appeared 34 times for the Bees so far in the Premier League.

The midfielder has amassed an average WhoScored rating of 6.88 so far in all competitions. This showcases Norgaard‘s talent and shows that he plays at a high standard.

The Denmark international has however spoken about his future and refused to rule out a move away from the London club.

“Yes, there has been a bit of everything, without me mentioning some clubs by name,” he told Tipsbladet.

“You should never say never in the football world. I have also found out.

“You cannot predict what will happen in hectic transfer windows and what else it might be. The enquiries there’s been on me, I have not considered seriously or concretely.”

Where Norgaard’s future lies

The midfielder didn’t mention the names of the clubs that were interested in his services. He also stressed how committed he is to Brentford.

He added: “The focus is 100 percent here at Brentford, and as I said earlier, there is no place I would rather be than here.

“It’s a club that’s working to get better and I think we can take the next step next season.

“Specifically, I think there are a lot of things that point to me also playing at Brentford on the other side of the summer break.”

There have so far been no genuine reports of interest in acquiring Norgaard’s services although there are likely to be interested parties.
