Marc Cucurella becomes top priority for Antonio Conte at Tottenham, as price tag revealed by report

Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella

A report has revealed how much it will cost Tottenham to sign Marc Cucurella from Brighton, with the star a top priority for Antonio Conte.

Cucurella has good pedigree, having come through the ranks at Barcelona. He graduated from their academy setup in 2017 but only made one first-team appearance before leaving for Eibar.

The left-back returned to Barcelona briefly, only to join Getafe soon afterwards. He became a top performer for the Spanish club and earned a transfer to Brighton in August 2021.

The Seagulls spent around £15.4million to bring Cucurella to the Premier League, as per BBC Sport.

He has been one of Graham Potter’s best players this season, having made 36 appearances in all competitions.

But Cucurella could spend just one campaign at the Amex Stadium. According to Sport Witness, who cite reports from Spain and Italy, the 23-year-old is wanted by Tottenham and Juventus.

He is reportedly a ‘main objective’ for Conte in north London, as the manager is looking to bolster his ranks this summer.

Cucurella’s ability to operate as a left-back or left midfielder would make him a perfect fit for Conte’s system.

Spurs officials ‘evaluating’ Marc Cucurella move

Due to this, Spurs chiefs are currently ‘evaluating’ whether to make a summer bid. However, a deal will not be easy to complete.

That’s because Juventus also like Cucurella and believe he could be a solid performer under Max Allegri.

As such, the two clubs could enter into a bidding war during the summer transfer window.

Cucurella penned a long-term contract when joining Brighton – it lasts until June 2026. As such, Potter’s side can command a decent fee.

Sport Witness state it will take an offer worth £17.1million to tempt Brighton into selling.

This would see the south coast team earn a small profit on Cucurella, who has won one cap for Spain in his career.

Brighton would therefore have ample funds to find a replacement on the left side of defence.
