Portland Thorns FC open their 22-game NWSL regular-season slate today against the Kansas City Current at Providence Park. The match kicks off at 3 p.m. (Pacific) and will be streamed live on Twitch. Following the match, media can join the postgame press conference.
Portland enters its 10th season of play in the National Women’s Soccer League as the reigning NWSL Shield winners. Thorns FC are 8-0-0 in NWSL regular-season home openers, outscoring opponents 23-5 in those matches. In the club’s 2021 home opener, Portland registered a 5-0 victory over the Chicago Red Stars. Smith scored a brace, Sinclair tallied her 50th career goal, and Morgan Weaver contributed two assists.
