CF Montréal Gets Better of Atlanta United FC

MONTREAL – CF Montréal tied an MLS Club record by going undefeated in a sixth consecutive game with a 2-1 win over Atlanta United FC on Saturday at Stade Saputo. Kamal Miller struck early for the hosts on a set piece (4′) while Marcelino Moreno equalized in the 51st minute for Atlanta. Joaquin Torres ultimately struck the game-winner off a header in the 82nd minute.

Montreal will play a second consecutive match at Stade Saputo next Saturday at 4pm (TVA Sports, 91.9 Sports, TSN 690) against Orlando City SC.

GAME NOTES:

-Defender Kamal Miller collected his first goal and his third assist of the season.

-Midfielder Djordje Mihailovic earned his fourth assist of the season and 20th since joining Montreal. He becomes the sixth player to do so with the club in MLS.

-Midfielder Joaquin Torres scored a second game-winning goal this season.

-Midfielder Victor Wanyama reached the milestone of 5,000 minutes played in MLS.

-Wanyama and midfielder Ismaël Koné will both be suspended for the next game due to yellow card accumulation.

When facing a team like that, we tried to find solutions, especially in the second half. Despite the quality of the opponent, we tried to get into their half and create something.
