Southampton star Mohammed Salisu claims new contract is 'going to come' amid breakout season

Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu says a new contract is ‘going to come’ after his breakout campaign on the south coast.

The centre-back spent time at Real Valladolid before joining Southampton for just under £11million in August 2020. He made 15 appearances during his first season in England, with 12 of those coming in the Premier League.

Salisu has become a first-team regular under Ralph Hasenhuttl during the current campaign. The manager has selected him in 33 matches so far, with Salisu getting one goal in that time.

“Four games left, it’s not going to be easy. We want to finish in a good place so we have to work hard every day and fight for every game to make sure we can.

“It’s been nine games and we’ve only had one win. I think the fans are expecting to win this Saturday, so we’re going to give our best and fight for everything to get what we…
