Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is expected to leave this summer and has reportedly told his close friends that he fancies a move to Arsenal.

Calvert-Lewin has had a stop-start season after winning a place in the England squad at last summer’s European Championships. The 25-year-old make two sub appearances at the finals was expected to excel at Goodison Park this season.

However, injuries have blighted his campaign. He has made just 14 appearances after breaking a toe in September. And he recently picked up a quad injury in training, which saw him sit out the last two games.

Despite a disappointing season, suitors remain interested in the striker.

Football Insider claims that Arsenal and Newcastle are both interested in signing the forward.

What’s more the same outlet report that Calvert-Lewin is “likely to leave Everton this summer” regardless of whether they are relegated or not.

The Goodison Park outfit are said to have lost £121m last season and £373m in three years. Something may well have to give this summer and The Sun have reported previously that either Richarlison or Calvert-Lewin will move on.

The Sheffield-born striker has also apparently “told friends his preferred destination is Arsenal”.

The Gunners are chasing a place in next season’s Champions League. And they are also in need of a striker after failing with a bid to sign Dusan Vhalovic in January.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was allowed to leave and the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are unclear. Both are out of contract with the latter looking likely to leave on a free transfer.

There has been talk from L’Equipe of a one year extension for Lacazette.

Calvert-Lewin could be an option for Mikel Arteta. As per the source, Everton will listen to offers for the player as Frank Lampard looks to reshape his squad.

Calvert-Lewin is under contract until 2025 and the Toffees will want top dollar for the former Sheffield United…
