Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle will all be scouting Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo on Thursday, according to a report.
The right winger, who can also operate as a second striker, has been in good form this season. His record is seven goals and eight assists from 36 matches so far.
Zaniolo is helping Roma push for a spot in Europe. They sit fifth with four matches left, putting them in a good place to secure Europa League qualification for 2022-23.
While that will not represent their best season, it is an improvement on last term. Roma finished seventh in 2020-21, forcing them to compete in UEFA’s new third tier tournament – the Europa Conference League.
Jose Mourinho’s team are hoping to become its first winners. However, they will have to overcome Premier League competition in the semi-final.
Roma travel to Leicester City in the first leg, which will take place on Thursday at 20:00. The Italian outfit then host Brendan Rodgers’ men at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday May 5.
Nicolo Zaniolo scouting predicted
Italian source Calciomercato claim Zaniolo is likely to start, and three English clubs will be monitoring his performance.
They are Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle. And all three have previous transfer links with the nine-time Italy international.
Back in February, the Red Devils made an approach to land Zaniolo, as per Italian journalist Enrico Camelio.
Then, reports put Tottenham and Newcastle in the frame to make Zaniolo a marquee signing this summer.
Spurs chief Fabio Paratici could use his connections in Serie A to help Antonio Conte’s win the race for the player’s signature.
However, the three English clubs will need to fend off competition from Italy. Calciomercato put Juventus at the front of the queue for Zaniolo.
Max Allegri wants to overhaul his squad after a disappointing campaign and capturing the 22-year-old is seen as a good place to start.
transfermarkt put Zaniolo’s transfer value at just under £30million,…
