Frisco, Texas – FC Dallas (4-1-3, 15 points) defeats Houston Dynamo FC (3-2-3, 12 points) in first Texas Derby match of the season thanks to goals from Tsiki Ntsabeleng and Facundo Quignon.
Game Summary
First Half:
11′ – SHOT (DAL) – José Martínez fired a low left-footed shot near the top of the six-yard box but his shot went wide of the goal following a corner from Marco Farfan.
33′ – GOAL (HOU) – Sebastián Ferreira controlled Adam Lundkvist’s cross in the box before slotting his shot in the bottom right corner of Paes goal to give Houston the 1-0 lead.
Second Half
56′ – SHOT (HOU) – Substitute Memo Rodriguez nearly doubled the Dynamo’s lead with a free kick that bounced on the underside of the crossbar and off the goal line.
67′ – SHOT (DAL) – Paul Arriola set the ball down for Alan Velasco who attempted a left-footed shot from the edge of the box that was pushed away by Steve Clark.
72′ – SHOT (DAL) – Jesús Ferreira attempted a shot inside the box that went over the goal, following the cross from Franco Jara.
86′ – SHOT (HOU) – Memo Rodríguez left-footed shot from the left side of the box is saved by Maarten Paes in a one-on-one situation.
87′ – GOAL (DAL) – Marco Farfan’s shot was saved by Clark but on the rebound Tsiki Ntsabeleng was there to tap the ball into the back of the net.
90’+3′ – GOAL (DAL) – Facundo Quignon waited at the back post and connected with Velasco’s corner kick to score the game-winning goal from close range for FC Dallas.
