Moyes tipped to seal West Ham move for goal-hungry winger discarded by Erik ten Hag

West Ham manager David Moyes is reportedly on the trail of Noa Lang – and looks ready to step in and adhere to a Club Brugge transfer demand.

The 22-year-old star has emerged as a genuine star at the Belgium club over the past two seasons. Having broken through at Ajax, he was allowed to depart after failing to convince Erik ten Hag he was worthy of a long-term stay. Many Ajax supporters though were sad to see him leave, particularly after becoming the first Ajax player in 60 years to score a hat-trick on his first league start.

But with competition tough in the forward areas, Lang made the move to Belgium on an initial loan deal. That arrangement was made permanent last summer – and the player has not looked back since.

Indeed, Lang has 25 goals in 77 appearances for Brugge – also weighing in with 19 assists – form which has alerted a string of suitors.

Leeds were the first to show their hand, with the player catching the eye of director of football Victor Orta and former boss Marcelo Bielsa.

Ultimately, Leeds were put off by Brugge’s £25m asking price, while some questionable behaviour from the player also cast a serious shadow over his transfer prospects. Furthermore, Leeds instead moved to snap up Daniel James, who was a long-term target of Bielsa’s.

Since then, Arsenal have also come on to the scene for Lang amid reports Mikel Arteta is a big admirer.

The Gunners are looking to add more quality to their squad  – and also need to bolster their attacking ranks too. As such, Lang is reportedly on their radar as a possible upgrade for Nicolas Pepe.

However, reports in Italy now claim it is West Ham who are emerging as genuine contenders to sign Lang.

As per Calciomercato, the Hammers are emerging the main contenders to sign Lang alongside other long-term suitors AC Milan.

And unlike his other suitors, they appear willing to meet Brugge’s £25m asking price.
