Gareth Bale could leave Europe at the end of his Real Madrid contract and secure a transfer to MLS, according to a reporter.
The Wales international notched 72 goals in 237 games for Tottenham over two spells in north London. His first stint there came after a £10million transfer from Southampton in July 2007.
Real paid Tottenham £85million in 2013 to sign Bale, making him the world’s most expensive player at the time.
The wide man has won plenty of trophies while in Spain, including two La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues. He has also bagged some historic goals in matches such as El Clasico and the UCL final.
However, the 32-year-old has also struggled with injuries and game time at Real. This season he has appeared just seven times in all competitions, bagging one goal.
Earlier this month, Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, confirmed the star would leave the Bernabeu once his contract expires on June 30.

Reports soon suggested he could re-join Spurs for a third time, after his loan there in 2020-21. But this is unlikely given his huge wages and fitness record.
As such, Bale could end up being without a club. This would be bad for the Cardiff-born ace as he wants to help Wales reach the Qatar World Cup and then shine at the tournament.
According to Washington Post journalist Steven Goff, an MLS outfit is planning to give Bale a lifeline.
The team in question is DC United, where Wayne Rooney played between July 2018 and January 2020.
Goff claims DC United officials are in contact with Bale and Barnett. They have previously held talks over a transfer to America, only for discussions to fall through.
There is more hope this time around though and the player doesn’t have to rely on Real holding out for a fee.
