Eden Hazard brother speculates on Real Madrid future amid Newcastle link

Real Madrid, Eden Hazard

Real Madid winger Eden Hazard will remain in Spain until he has proven he is the best player, according to brother Kylian.

Kylian Hazard, 26, has claimed that his brother will not want to leave Real Madrid until he has proven his worth to the club. The Belgian forward has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with Newcastle United and Chelsea both reportedly interested.

However, the latest comments from his younger brother may suggest Eden Hazard is not prepared to leave the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium just yet.

Speaking to RTL Sport, Kylian insisted his brother is not the type of person to shy away from a challenge.

He said: “He’s not going to let Real go until he’s proven he’s the strongest there.

“He’s proven himself at every club he’s been to, and for me, he doesn’t want to leave.

“I don’t think he’s going to leave. If the president wants him to leave, and he knows he has no chance to play, then I don’t think that he will stay. But I can assure you, he will do everything to prove he is the best player at Real Madrid.”

Eden has had a difficult spell at Real Madrid since joining from Chelsea in 2019. The 31-year-old joined for a whopping fee of £100m. However, he has failed to live up to that price tag so far.

In total Hazard has scored six goals and provided 10 assists in 65 appearances for Real. He also won La Liga with the club in the 2019/20 season, his first year in Spain.

Eden Hazard linked with premier League return

Last week, reports suggested that Newcastle United were hopeful of pulling off a shock signing in Eden Hazard this summer.

The Chelsea icon has also been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge. However, under current sanctions this now looks unlikely.

Arsenal were also rumoured to be targeting a star winger in the transfer window, with Eden’s name put in the mix.

However, it has now been revealed that a move to Arsenal is increasingly unlikely, with reports suggesting this bid has faded.
