Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has named the one thing he thinks his teammates did ‘so well’ in their FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City.

Liverpool raced into a three goal lead at Wembley, Ibrahima Konate opening the scoring with a header before Sadio Mane added a brace.

City pulled one back shortly after half time as Jack Grealish fired home and added another in the final moments, Bernardo Silva slotting it into an empty net.

Jurgen Klopp’s side had drawn 2-2 with City last weekend in the Premier League and goalkeeper Alisson admitted they wanted to improve on that performance on Saturday.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, the Brazilian said: “Our target today was to improve the performance in respect of what we did in the last match and we could do that. We were much more confident from the first moment of the game.

“Sometimes we could control all the situations, we created great chances and we took those great chances. Scoring three goals is something that gives you an amazing feeling and we achieved, I think, all the targets that we had for this game.

“It was a fantastic day to play football and play a semi-final. The atmosphere our supporters created here was amazing, playing at Wembley against Manchester City, a great opponent, everything that we could ask for a semi-final and from our side a victory, so great.”

The Reds second goal came from a mistake from second choice City shot-stopper Zack Steffen, who spent too long on the ball, allowing Mane the opportunity to slide in and score.
