Trent Alexander-Arnold reveals Jurgen Klopp’s half-time message to Liverpool squad

Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed the message that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp delivered to his players at half-time against Manchester City on Sunday.

Klopp’s men made a blistering start to the second half and scored through Sadio Mane within a minute of the restart. City had taken the lead through Kevin de Bruyne, but Diogo Jota equalised soon after. Gabriel Jesus put City ahead 10 minutes before half-time only Mane to level as the game ended 2-2.

City had started the better of the two sides and were deservedly ahead at the break. Liverpool though were more of a threat in the second half, although City thought they had won the game through Raheem Sterling only to see his goal chalked off for offside.

Klopp though can take great credit for rousing his troops at half-time. And Alexander-Arnold who was an attacking threat for the visitors has revealed what the German coach’s message was after the first stanza.

Alexander-Arnold said: “We want to win every game we’re in, no matter the opposition we come up against. It says a lot about us that we’ve got that slight disappointment not to come here and win.

“It was very important for us not to lose this game, we’re still in a decent position but it is in their hands. A few years ago, this is what happened.

“They went on a really good run and we weren’t able to capitalise on that. Hopefully, this time around, they will drop a few points for us.
