Arsenal snap up another starlet from Fulham after success of Mika Biereth transfer

Arsenal have turned to Fulham in their latest bid to snap up top young talent from around the country, with defender Maldini Kacurri arriving after his release by the Cottagers.

The 16-year-old is expected to be included in the club’s scholarship uptake next season after his stint at Craven Cottage came to an end when he was let go.

Kacurri is a youth international who has already featured a couple of times for Albania’s Under-17s.

The report from Football.London’s Chris Wheatley adds that Kacurri has already featured on the pitch for Arsenal. Indeed, he played well in a friendly academy clash against Garuda Select.

Arsenal are well versed in snapping up young talent from fellow London clubs after their release.

The likes of Jonathan Dinzeyi (Tottenham) and Amani Richards (Chelsea) have joined in recent seasons.

Meanwhile, the Gunners snapped up Mika Biereth last summer, with the striker enjoying an excellent season with the club’s Under-23s.

He is regarded as Arsenal’s best addition to their youth set-up this season. Indeed, Biereth has banged in 11 goals and added five assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.

Biereth on fringes of first-team squad

Indeed, the Danish youngster is expected to push for a place in Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad next season.

The Gunners could well need Biereth, given that Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah could both leave on free transfers in the summer.
