“Flat” Gary Neville makes Manchester United manager prediction following bore draw

Gary Neville believes Manchester United could announce their new manager in the coming days to appease the fans as their Champions League hopes suffered another setback.

United were held to a 1-1 draw against Leicester to leave them off the pace for the top four. The Reds sit sixth, four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal who have played two games less. It is looking grim and Neville believes a new manager could be announced in the coming days.

It appears to be a two-horse race between Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino but the situation is dragging on. Some may argue the pressure is off as Ralf Rangnick is in charge for the rest of the season.

However speaking on Sky Sports after the Leicester game Neville reiterated that a quick appointment is needed. The interview process has started and cannot drag on he says.

The former Reds defender believes the draw against the Foxes could now prompt a decision.

There are just eight games remaining of the season and Neville says an announcement would galvanise the club. As things stand the fans are flat and bored according to Neville and a managerial appointment will lift the mood.

The interview process continues and Neville has urged United to make a decision.

“Look, because the interview process started, publicly, sort of seven to 10 days ago, I said you’ve got to conclude it quite quickly or else it becomes a bit of a mess,” Neville told Sky Sports.
