Pogba, Man Utd exit route to feature big twist as club stamp authority with deal ceiling

Paul Pogba will reportedly have to accept a major pay cut if he leaves Manchester United for Juventus in the summer transfer window.

The French midfielder has long faced speculation over his exit following his struggles for form at Old Trafford. Not only has he suffered injury problems along the way, but a dwindling contract to boot.

And as the current campaign has progressed, it has become increasingly clear that he sees his future elsewhere.

Pogba has insisted that “nothing is decided” three months before his deal expires. Nevertheless, he has admitted that he “wants to win titles”.

He therefore recently described this season as “dead” for Man Utd as they scrap for the top four having exited the other competitions.

Juventus has emerged as a potential exit route for Pogba in the summer. He left Old Trafford for the Turin club in 2012 and his sparkling form thereafter convinced United to re-sign him in 2016 for £89million.

According to Calciomercato, though, the 29-year-old will have to take a considerable pay cut to move back to Juventus.

The Old Lady have put a ceiling of €10million (£8.5million) on the wages they are willing to offer Pogba per season.

That equates to just over £160,000 per week. And that is a sizeable drop from the reported £290,000 per week that he currently takes home at Man Utd.
