Centre-back commended by John Terry remains on West Ham wanted list

Roberto Firmino Joe Worrall March 2022

Joe Worrall’s man-of-the-match display on Sunday has got both West Ham and Everton carefully tracking the Nottingham Forest defender, claims a report.

Forest were knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool on Sunday, but the Championship promotion hopefuls gave the visitors a fright. And Worrall was one of the stars for the hosts, who looked a match for the Premier League giants.

Worrall, 25, received huge praise from the watching pundits while he also received an Instagram message from John Terry. The former Chelsea and England man congratulating him on his performance.

West Ham have been rumoured to be keen for 12 months, while the Mirror claims Everton are also interested in the player.

The Sunday Mirror suggest that the Hammers sent scouts to watch the Worrall in action against Liverpool. And club insiders Claret and Hugh suggest that they were really impressed with the player.

In November it was revealed that Worrall was close to joining an unnamed Premier League club last summer.

“I think it’s something that, if it doesn’t happen one day – touch wood it is with Forest – but if it isn’t, it’ll be with a club that show me a bit more love than the club that turned me down in the summer,” said Worrall.

Aston Villa have also been mentioned as suitors after Steven Gerrard handed a debut to Worrall at Rangers in 2018-19. And although Villarreal scored after a minute, Worrall stood up and helped Rangers earn a brilliant 2-2 draw…
