Tottenham talks confirmed for Hull star Keane Lewis-Potter as transfer agenda and price tag emerge

Tottenham have reportedly stepped up their talks over a deal for Keane Lewis-Potter – but a trusted transfer source claims the deal will not go through until the summer.

It’s been a hugely frustrating transfer window so far for Tottenham boss Antonio Conte. The Italian, looking to make his mark on the squad, is having to wheel and deal to bring in better quality players. However, with just four days remaining, Spurs director Fabio Paratici  – in charge of transfers – is yet to strike gold.

As such, a report on Monday claims Conte is putting pressure on Tottenham to secure four signings before the window shuts.

And while that seems a touch ambitious, Conte admits Spurs lack the squad quality that many of their Premier League rivals do.

Strengthening the midfield looks to be an urgent need for Conte. He has seen an offer accepted for No 1 target Franck Kessie – only to see the midfielder near a move to Barcelona.

Spurs are also being linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha amid claims his price has dropped.

However, better news is on the way with reports claiming a deal for an AFCON enforcer is close to being finalised.

Generally speaking though, Conte’s plans to mould the Spurs squad into his own look likely to wait until the summer.

Indeed, one player mentioned as a future target is talented Hull star Lewis-Potter.

The 20-year-old has recently been watched by Spurs scouts, who are, understandably, suitably impressed.

Indeed, he’s enjoying an excellent season for the Tigers, despite their struggles at the wrong end of the table.

The attacking midfielder has six goals and three assists this season. That’s a decent record for a young player operating in a side currently 19th.

Spurs to pay £12m for Keane Lewis-Potter

Keane Lewis-Potter has already been the subject of a failed £8m offer from Brentford.

However, reports on Wednesday claim Spurs are readying a bigger bid, reportedly around the £12m mark.
