Top Seeded Terps Host Northwestern in B1G Quarterfinals at 7 PM Friday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The Maryland men’s soccer team earned the top seed in the Big Ten Tournament and will host eighth seeded Northwestern in the quarterfinals on Friday at Ludwig Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Maryland secured its third Big Ten Regular Season title in dramatic fashion on Sunday at Indiana. Needing a draw to win the title outright, Stefan Copetti headed in a Joshua Bolma cross in the 87th minute to make the score 1-1 and lift the Terps to the top of the Big Ten table. It was the Terps’ first regular season title since 2016.

The Terps and Wildcats played to a 1-1 draw this season in Evanston. Northwestern eliminated the Terps via penalty kicks in the quarterfinal round last season. Maryland has won three Big Ten Tournament titles in their history (2014, 2015, 2016).
