HILLSBORO, Ore. – Timbers2 fell to St Louis CITY2 5-3 on Saturday evening at Hillsboro Stadium. Dawson McCartney, Tega Ikoba and Ryan Zellefrow scored a goal each in tonight’s match while McCartney and Blake Bodily tallied an assist. Notably, it was Zellefrow’s first goal of the season, which hescored in stoppage time as a second-half substitute.
Goal-Scoring Plays
STL – Akil Watts (Joao Klauss), 4th minute: Joao Klauss passed a ball at the top of the 18-yard box to Akil Watts who dribbled towards the middle and scored with a left-footed shot to the upper corner of the goal.
POR – Dawson McCartney (Blake Bodily), 18th minute: Blake Bodily sent a cross into the center of thebox where Dawson McCartney controlled the ball and fired a left-footed ball to the top-right corner.
STL – Joao Klauss (Akil Watts), 38th minute: Akil Watts slid a ball through the T2 defense into the top of the 18-yard box. Joao Klauss took possession of the ball, taking two shots and slotting the ball into the right corner of the goal.
STL – Kyle Hiebert (Joao Klauss), 49th minute: Off a free-kick from Joao Klauss, Kyle Hiebert headed the ball into the goal from the top right corner of the six-yard box.
POR – Tega Ikoba, 51st minute: Off a rebounded ball that came from the opponent’s goalkeeper, Tega Ikoba tapped in a ball into yhe left corner of the goal.
STL – Joao Klauss (Celio Pompeu), 53rd minute: Celio Pompeu crossed a ball near the goal line towards the middle of the six-yard box where Joao Klauss finished a shot with a tap-in.
STL – Vitor Dias (Celio Pompeu), 72nd minute: Vitor Dias took a left-footed shot from the center of the box and into to the top-middle crossbar. The cross came from Celio Pompeu on the left side of the field.
POR – Ryan Zellefrow (Dawson McCartney), 92nd minute: Dawson McCartney through the right wing and into the box before he crossed the ball towards the six-yard box. Ryan Zellefrow slid through two defenders and made contact with the ball, slotting the third goal for T2 in stoppage time.
