Raheem Sterling scored his first two Chelsea goals as the Blues overcame Conor Gallagher’s first-half red card to beat Leicester.
Chelsea seemed to be in for a tough afternoon when Gallagher was sent off for two bookable offences before the half-hour mark.
But Sterling opened his Blues account with a deflected effort before rekindling his Manchester City magic by tapping a second into an empty net from a matter of yards.
Harvey Barnes inspired an attempted Leicester comeback just three minutes after the Foxes fell 2-0 behind but the visitors could not muster an equaliser.
