Manchester United defender Luke Shaw could reportedly miss the rest of the Premier League season due to an injury he suffered in 2015.
The England international underwent surgery last week to remove the metal bolts put into his leg back in 2015.

United’s interim boss Ralf Rangnick had hoped to have the defender back in the coming weeks but it is now thought that he may remain unavailable for the rest of the current campaign.
The Telegraph (via the Daily Mail) are reporting that Shaw has suffered a setback in his recovery from the surgery and will now miss United’s final seven Premier Leeague fixtures.
The bolts place in his leg were as a result of a fracture he suffered during a Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven.
The injury ruled Shaw out for a total of 11 months at the time, significantly affecting his early Old Trafford career.
After returning from the injury, he struggled to break back into the United side, and was publicly unfavoured by former United boss Jose Mourinho.
In recent seasons he has returned to form and begun to fulfil the promise he showed earlier in his career at Southampton. He shone for England last summer at the European Championships, scoring the opening goal in the final.
His form and fitness have dipped again this season with United often having to call upon Brazilian left-back Alex Telles in his absence.
The defender’s most recent setback could harm United’s slim chances of reaching the top four.
Elsewhere, former United defender Rio Ferdinand has warned Erik Ten Hag he could be ‘chewed up and spat out’ by the club.
Speaking on his Vibe with Five YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: “I’ve got to take my hat off to him because this is a risk. Many managers have been spat out here and he has good stock in the game at the moment.
“He’s valued and looked at as a very good coach and he’s coming in and he’s risking that.
