According to Sky Sports, Kalajdzic ‘is one of several’ strikers the Red Devils are looking at and the Stuttgart man ‘wants’ the transfer.
The 25-year-old is out of contract next year, so the German club may be open to selling before the transfer window slams shut.
However, former Man Utd interim manager and current Austria boss Ralf Rangnick has said the player’s development would not be harmed if he stayed with his current team.
Ten Hag had previously targeted Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, but the Slovenian has agreed to join RB Leipzig in 2023.
The Dutch manager is short of options up front and may opt to start Cristiano Ronaldo – who wants to leave the club – against Brentford this weekend.
