Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly opened talks with Marcus Rashford and his representatives about a move from Manchester United, according to L’Equipe.

The 24-year-old England international is under contract at United until the end of the 2022-23 season but has the option to extend a further year.

PSG have made no secret of their desire to bolster their squad before the closure of the transfer window.

New PSG boss Christophe Galtier declared this week they wanted another forward and Rashford would fit that bill given his quality.

Sky Sports claims that PSG’s initial contact with Rashford’s representatives was last week and will not be followed up.

Rashford had an injury-interrupted start to last season, only managing four Premier League goals across 25 appearances. He had scored 17 goals back in the 2019-20 league campaign.

Elsewhere, Manchester City have been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi as they look to bolster their options in the position.

The Telegraph has linked City with Renan Lodi in a report, citing the need for a replacement to the departed Oleksandr Zinchenko who has joined Arsenal.

Among the completed deals this week were Chelsea’s Malang Sarr joined Monaco on loan, while West Ham United loaned Nikola Vlasic to Torino.

Issa Diop has joined Fulham for an undisclosed fee from the Hammers and Alexis Sanchez completed a free transfer from Inter to Olympique Marseille.
