Leicester star Jamie Vardy ‘might be’ on a Chelsea transfer shortlist in a rumour that ‘has to have some of substance’ because it would be mad to make it up…
Hold on to your hats, folks, we’re offering you a sneak peak behind the transfer window curtain, or rather self-proclaimed ‘transfer insider’ Dean Jones has.

The GiveMeSport journalist gave the perfect example of how transfer bullsh*t can emerge from nowhere, as he took what appears to be nothing more than an overhead conversation in the pub as gospel to claim Chelsea are considering a move for Vardy.
Let’s get into it…
“I’ve heard from someone that Jamie Vardy might be on Chelsea’s list as a last-minute backup striker,” Jones told the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube Channel.
‘From someone’ is brilliant, and in combination with ‘might be’ we’re off to a great start. But it gets so much better.
Jones then basically admits the ‘someone’ is a nobody without any knowledge of the situation, before making the extraordinary claim that the rumour must be true as it would be too “weird to make up”.
“It wasn’t the greatest source in the world, but I was like… that’s a weird one to just make up. That’s got to have some sort of substance,” Jones added.
Brilliant. Vardy is now being added to Wesley Fofana stories in ‘£75m double swoops’ and Jones is being described as an ‘insider’ after his talks with ‘someone’.
Reports of Chelsea’s interest in Fofana are more widespread and make far more sense as they are obviously desperate to land a new centre-back this summer.
It was claimed earlier this week that the Blues had agreed personal terms with the 21-year-old, who’s keen on a move to Stamford Bridge to play Champions League football.
But the Foxes want £70m for the Frenchman, whom they bought for £31.5m from Saint-Etienne two years ago.
L’Equipe claim Chelsea will move quickly for Fofana, though they will attempt to lower Leicester’s demands.
This morning’s gossip though claimed Chelsea are gunning for a triple swoop from Inter Milan to solve all their problems.
