Manchester United are reportedly holding firm on keeping Cristiano Ronaldo who wants to leave the Red Devils this off-season.
The 37-year-old Portuguese, who re-joined United in August last year, has reportedly decided it is time to depart Old Trafford.
However, the Daily Mirror reports that Ronaldo has been told by United that he must be on their pre-season tour starting next week that includes fixtures in Thailand and Australia.
The Sun claims that Chelsea are among the suitors for Ronaldo, who is understood to want to win silverware in the twilight of his career, which seems unlikely in the short term with United.
Erik ten Hag has taken over at Old Trafford in the off-season but the club are yet to do any major business, despite links to Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong.
De Jong seems determined to stay with the Blaugrana, with the United deal representing a pay cut that he’s unwilling to accept according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Daily Mail claims that [Arsenal]] are ready to ramp up their interest in Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez who has also been linked with United.
Brentford’s Christian Eriksen and Inter defender Stefan de Vrij have also been linked with ten Hag’s new side.
United do appear set to secure a deal for Feyenoord’s Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia, with a medical pending on Monday.
