San Antonio FC Tops Monterey Bay F.C. Behind Late Santiago Patiño Goal

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC drew Oakland Roots SC 1-1 tonight, earning the team’s first draw of the season to move to 10-3-1 on the season. With the point, SAFC is just two points back of Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC for first in the USL Championship Western Conference.


Oakland scored first, finding the back of the net in the 29th minute. In first half stoppage time, Samuel Adeniran scored his first goal with San Antonio to tie the match. The goal came off an assist from PC, the midfielder’s third assist in the last two matches and giving him a team-leading four on the season.

Despite SAFC outshooting Oakland 8-2 in the second half, the score held for the team’s first draw of the season.

SAFC is on the road next week, traveling to play Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Friday, June 24 in a matchup featuring the two top teams in the Western Conference. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. CT, and the match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
