Jack Grealish has reportedly been the subject of shock interest from Manchester United, amid his uncertain future at Manchester City.

The 29-year-old signed for City from Aston Villa for a then £100million British-record fee in 2021, but he has struggled for form and gametime in recent months.

Grealish has made just six starts in the Premier League this term and has found the net once in all competitions across 21 matches.

Earlier this month, City boss Pep Guardiola blasted the England international for his poor form and said he yearned for the return of Grealish from their Treble-winning 2022-23 campaign. 

‘I want the Jack that won the Treble,’ he said. ‘But I try to be honest with myself for that. He has to compete with himself. Savinho is in better shape and everything than Jack and that’s why I played Savinho.

‘I know that he can do it because I saw him. I saw his level and I want that, every single training session and every single game.’

This has led to speculation that the former Villa star could be set for the Etihad exit door and, according to The Sun, his situation is being monitored by United, alongside three other Premier League clubs.

Beleaguered United boss Ruben Amorim is desperate for reinforcements this month after losing seven – and winning just five – of his 15 games in charge of the club since taking over in November. 

It remains to be seen if United’s interest materialises into something more, but if Grealish was to make the move, he would be the first player to transfer directly between the arch-rivals since Carlos Tevez joined City in 2009.
