SEATTLE, WASH. – Following a three-match week that saw the Rave Green defeat both Minnesota United FC and Houston Dynamo FC, Sounders FC (4-6-1, 13 points) faces 2022 expansion side Charlotte FC (5-7-1, 16 points) for the first time in franchise history in a nationally-televised matchup Sunday night at Lumen Field (6:30 p.m. PT / FS1, FOX Deportes, Sirius XM FC, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).
Sounders FC sits 13th in the Western Conference with 13 points in just 11 games played this season, while Charlotte is in eighth place in the Eastern Conference with 16 points from 13 matches. Seattle has a 5-2-4 all-time record in its first outings against expansion sides, with its most recent victory coming against FC Cincinnati in 2019. Following tonight’s match, Seattle heads into an international break before hosting Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Tuesday, June 14 (7:30 p.m. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).
