No. 18 Duke Travels to No. 17 Elon Tuesday


DURHAM, N.C. – No. 18 Duke men’s soccer (4-2-3, 2-1-2 ACC) travels to Rudd Field in Elon, N.C., to face off against No. 17 Elon (8-2-1, 4-1-0 CAA) on Tuesday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on FloSports. 
 
MATCHUP NOTES

  • Duke and Elon meet for the 21st time in program history on Tuesday at Rudd Field in Elon, N.C., with the Blue Devils leading the all-time series tally 15-2-3.
  • The Blue Devils are riding a three-match winning streak over the Phoenix, shutting out Elon, 3-0, at Koskinen Stadium in 2023. 
  • Elon’s last win over Duke came in 2019, defeating the Blue Devils 3-2 at Rudd Field. 

 
BY THE NUMBERS
14 – Goals scored against Averett at Koskinen Stadium tied a program record for most goals scored in a single contest.
10 – Duke has won 10-plus contests in 10 of the 16 completed seasons under Kerr.
7 – Seven different Blue Devils registered their first career goals in 2024, including five against Averett.
3 – Graduate Adam Luckhurst tallied three goals against Averett netting his first career hat trick in his first game in Koskinen Stadium.  

FIRST TOUCH

  • Duke earned another hard-fought point at Koskinen Stadium on Friday, moving into fifth place on the ACC table. The Blue Devils drew No. 16 SMU, 2-2, after graduate Adam Luckhurst tallied his fourth-consecutive match with a goal. Luckhurst sits second in the ACC in goals scored, behind Matthew Roou who has registered 11 in 10 games, after his four-goal performance last week.
  • The Blue Devils are 3-0-2 away from the friendly confines of Koskinen Stadium this season, earning victories against UC San Diego, Virginia, and NC State while tying Stanford and San Diego. Duke has scored 10 goals in road matches this season, averaging two goals away from home.
  • Duke rides a three-match unbeaten streak into Tuesday’s contest, with the last loss coming at the hands of North Carolina at Koskinen Stadium.

 
ACC TABLE IS CROWDED

  • Heading into the sixth weekend of ACC play, the league standings are crowded, as seven teams are within striking distance of the top spot. Duke enters its weekend matchup with Wake Forest, in sole possession of fifth place after drawing SMU on Friday.
