MADISON, Wisc. – The Rutgers men’s soccer team (3-5-2, 0-2-1 B1G) will begin another two-game road trip at No. 8 Wisconsin (6-2-1, 1-2-1 B1G) on Friday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET.

Last Time Out
No. 25 Michigan struck first in the 14th minute, but the Scarlet Knights weren’t far behind as Nestor Cabrera notched his first goal of the season just about a minute later. Despite many more great offensive chances for RU on Saturday, the contest ended in the 1-1 draw.

RU’s 19 total shots mark the second highest in a single game this season. They accumulated 20 shots earlier in the campaign against Yale (Sept. 17). The 16 first half shots signify a season best.
Goalkeeper Ciaran Dalton made three saves in net, bringing his season total to 44 stops.
Coming Out Fast
Rutgers has been hot from the jump this season on offense. The team has scored first in four of 10 contests this campaign.
The Scarlet Knights also netted six goals in the first 15 minutes of the contest, including three in the first five minutes.

Calov leads RU with four goals and has scored all of them in the first eight minutes of play.
2024 Team Captains
At the start of preseason, head coach Jim McElderry named the captains for the 2024 fall season. Joey Zalinsky was selected for the honor for the second season in a row in addition to fellow senior Aidan Flynn and junior Cole Cruthers.
“Being a captain for the second season in a row means a lot,” said Zalinsky. “It shows that I am more than just a leader. I am able to help this team win and help my teammates on and off the field.”
