Badgers fall to USC | Wisconsin Badgers

LOS ANGELES, Calif.- The Wisconsin women’s soccer team took on the No. 24 ranked USC Trojans for the first time in 22 years and fell short with a final score of 3-0. 

How it Happened

First Half

Possession remained equal throughout the half with the Badges leading in corners (4-1).

Both teams moved the ball down the field tying at five shots a piece.

The Badger’s defense held strong only allowing two shots-on-goal. 

Neither team capitalized and it was scoreless after the first 45.

Second Half

The Badgers came back out charged up and earned two corner kicks in the first two minutes of play.

Momentum shifted, and the Trojans were able to capitalize off a corner kick in the 54th minute.

Despite leading in corner kicks (6-4) the Badgers offense was unable to sink one into the net ending the game with a final score of 3-0.

Up Next

The Badgers will return home to host Nebraska at the McClimon Soccer Complex on Sunday, Oct. 6. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. Admission is free.
