Series Histories

  • Maryland and Washington have a brief history with the Huskies holding a 2-0 series lead. The first meeting came in 2003 in Seattle with UW taking a 2-1 victory. The two teams were scheduled to play in 2004, but the match was canceled due to inclement weather. The two squads would end up meeting in the Sweet 16 of the 2004 NCAA Tournament with Washington advancing 1-0.
  • This will be the first-ever meeting between Maryland and Oregon.

This is Maryland and Washington’s first meeting since the 2004 Sweet 16, with Washington winning 1-0. Sunday’s game against Oregon will be the first between the two programs.

Ringing the Bell Twice

  • Kennedy Bell’s two-goal performance in the Terps’ 4-0 win over VCU on Sept. 8 was the first time a Terp scored twice in a game since Lisa McIntyre scored twice against James Madison on Aug. 27, 2023.
  • Bell opened the scoring in the 5th minute, finishing a scramble inside the 8-meters. She added her second of the day less than two minutes later on a breakaway off of a beautifully paced through ball from Peyton Bernard.
  • Bell is the first Terp to score twice in the first half of a match since teammate Ava Morales found the net twice in the opening 45 minutes at Purdue on Oct. 23, 2022.
