Barcelona ‘consider late bid’ for Man Utd winger Jadon Sancho

Barcelona sporting director Deco is considering a bid for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, a report has claimed.

Sancho has rebuilt his relationship with United manager Erik ten Hag but is still available for transfer this summer, with the Red Devils looking for £40m to sanction his permanent departure.

With the final week of the summer transfer window approaching, United are yet to find a buyer for Sancho and SPORT claim there are a number of clubs who believe a loan move could be sanctioned later this month.

Among those monitoring the situation are Barca, who see a loan move for Sancho as a potential bargain as they seek to bolster out wide.

United would, however, demand Sancho’s wages be paid in full to sanction another loan move, which could be a major problem for Barca.

Having agreed to part ways with midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who is rejoining Manchester City on a free transfer, Barca will have significant space on their wage books, although a large part of that will be needed to register new signing Dani Olmo.

Reports elsewhere have suggested either Andreas Christensen or Eric Garcia could be sold to free up even more funds.

90min understands Barca are among the sides looking to strike a deal for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, who is considering his future in Munich following the arrival of Michael Olise.

Funding such a deal could be tricky for Barca at this late stage in the window and so the La Liga side are exploring a number of possible options, with Juventus’ Federico Chiesa another on the radar.

Meanwhile, it was recently claimed that some inside United believe Chelsea could be plotting a late move for Sancho.
