Eberechci Eze’s £60million release clause has expired, it can be revealed.

The Crystal Palace and England midfielder has been of stern interest this summer, with the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham circling in a bid to secure his signature in the current transfer window.

That could have been done without Palace being able to fight any bids up until Thursday evening as he had a release clause in his contract worth £60m plus £8m in add-ons. However, that clause is no longer valid.

It means that clubs interested in signing Eze may have to fork out a larger bid if they want to bring him to their clubs this summer.

Crystal Palace are at risk of losing a number of key players with interest in both Joachim Anderson and Marc Guehi from Fulham and Newcastle respectively, after already losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich this summer.

‘Nobody has got to the valuation yet,’ Parish said in the week of trying to hold onto Guehi. ‘If you want a superstar player you need to pay superstar money.

‘It’s not near the point where we have to make a decision. We love having him and would love to keep him.’

Eze has faced interest from a number of Premier League sides, including City, who have just lost Oscar Bobb for a number of months due to injuries.

City are expected to go into the transfer market this summer to sign a wide player, and are admirers of Eze.

The Palace star regularly plays on the left however, where Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden on occasion operate.

Spurs, meanwhile, have now signed Wilson Odobert from Burnley, which perhaps lessens their chances of going in for Eze.
