West Ham youngster George Earthy is set to join Championship club Bristol City on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut for the Hammers last season and scored his first goal for the club in the final home game of last season.

Mail Sport understands Robins boss Liam Manning played a key role in Earthy making the move due his previous role coaching West Ham’s youth teams.

Earthy has been tipped for a big future and is highly thought of by the coaches at West Ham.

The loan move to Ashton Gate is seen as a chance for him to secure regular first-team football, with the Hammers having brought in several attacking players during the transfer window.

Speaking to Mail Sport last month, former West Ham player and coach Jack Collinson described Earthy as a ‘mini Mark Noble’.

‘His character, he was always a real cheeky kid, always enthusiastic, loved training and on a matchday was just so competitive,’ Collinson said.

‘It was like watching a mini Mark Noble.

‘It’s hard to tell at that age but there’s always that hope that they’re going to go on and fulfill their potential.’
