Rader, Walters Selected to Forwards Watch List

DURHAM, N.C. – The United Soccer Coaches announced the Forwards to Watch list Tuesday with a pair of Duke juniors on the list – Kat Rader and Farrah Walters

The lists are compiled and released by the Division I All-America Committees to promote college soccer leading up to the official start date for the regular season. The lists include United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and first or second-team All-Region players from 2023, who are scheduled to return for the 2024 season.

Rader and Walters have combined to score 35 goals and collect 83 points the last two years on the pitch.

A product of Stuart, Florida, Rader has tallied 19 goals and 45 points over her first two seasons with the Blue Devils.  She is a two-time All-ACC Second Team honoree and two-time United Soccer Coaches Association All-Region selection.  Rader tallied seven goals and 16 points as a sophomore, while registering 12 goals and 29 points as a rookie.

Rader’s 45 points were the fourth-most by a Blue Devil in their freshman and sophomore seasons, while her 19 goals were tied for third.

Walters, who played the last two seasons at Santa Clara, owns 16 goals, six assists and 38 points over two years with the Broncos.  She started 29-of-37 matches and collected four game-winning goals.  Walters, who is from Scottsdale, Arizona, was a Second Team All-West Region and First Team All-WCC honoree a season ago.

Duke will kick off the 2024 season on the road at Ohio State on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.
