Tottenham Hotspur are close to finalising a deal to sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke, several credible reports have claimed.
Spurs are in line to make the 26-year-old their second signing of the summer transfer window, following on from the purchase of midfielder Archie Gray from Leeds United.
In recent weeks, Tottenham have focused their attentions on bringing in a new forward, with Solanke emerging as a key target.
Duncan Castles was first to report on Friday morning that Bournemouth had agreed to sell their talisman to Spurs, with The Athletic’s David Ornstein and football.london’s Alasdair Gold later backing up such news.

Though a transfer is not fully finalised at this point, Bournemouth have agreed to sell Solanke for a club-record fee, surpassing the £41m Manchester City paid for Nathan Ake in 2021.
Solanke’s contract contains a £65m release clause, and he would become Tottenham’s own record signing if this is the final number they agree to pay. Their current record stands at £60m, which was spent on Richarlison in 2022.
The Athletic’s reporting on the deal claims Solanke is ‘desperate’ to seal a move to Tottenham and has already agreed personal terms.
Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou recently confirmed his desire to bring in a new striker one year on from the departure of club legend Harry Kane, but was very particular with the type of player he wanted to sign.
“At Celtic, I had Kyogo, who was a sort of out and out number nine and in Japan, I’ve always had a striker. It just depends, like last year we had to be a bit creative, it’s fair to say. You know but if Harry would have stayed I definitely would have used him!” Postecoglou said.
“So I think for us what’s more important is the type of striker we get. You know we play a certain way. We demand certain things from a physical perspective from the technical aspects of it that it’s going be a striker that fits that mould.
“It’s still the area of the park we’re really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that’s a focus for us.
