A former Chelsea star has been left ‘speechless’ by the Premier League giants’ summer transfer strategy amid yet another window of mass movement.
The Blues have already signed seven players this summer for approximately £97million, taking the number of players with a professional contract on the club’s books to a whopping 44.
Of those seven signings, only Tosin Adarabioyo and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are above the age of 22.
Chelsea’s next arrival also appears imminent as they near an agreement with Atletico Madrid for 20-year-old striker Samu Omorodion in a £30m deal.
However, the club are set to sell homegrown product Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid in a separate deal for £33.7 million.

It is a bold transfer strategy but one that William Gallas, who made 159 appearances for Chelsea, has been left baffled by as he took aim at the club’s hierarchy.
‘The players are too young and it’s a huge problem, but the problem isn’t down to the players, the problem is whoever is bringing them in,’ Gallas told Genting Casino.
‘It’s the owner who is putting his hand into his pocket but others are giving him the information, they’ve spent too much on the wrong players and now they are looking at goalkeepers.
‘It’s a huge mess at Chelsea, a huge mess.’
Gallas also took a swipe at the club’s decision to sign Danish goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, who is the seventh senior goalkeeper on the club’s books.

Given Chelsea already have the likes of Robert Sanchez, Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga in the goalkeeping union at Cobham, Gallas saw no need to bring in Jorgensen.
