2023-24 Cougs Earn National Team Academic Award


PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Cougar soccer team was named a College Team Academic Award Winner by United Soccer Coaches for the Cougs’ exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year, the organization announced Thursday.
 
WSU Head Coach Todd Shulenberger‘s side averaged a 3.34 grade point average as a team over the two-semester academic year, marking the seventh time under Shulenberger’s nine-year tenure earning the national team award.
 
Since the United Soccer Coaches organization instituted the College Women’s Team Academic Award in 1996, the Washington State program has garnered the honor 16 times.
 
The 2024 Cougar soccer season is scheduled to begin Thursday, Aug. 15 in West Lafayette, Indiana against the Purdue Boilermakers. Wazzu will kick off its home campaign the following week, welcoming Montana, Thursday, Aug. 22 at Lower Soccer Field.
