Men’s Soccer Adds Fahey To Staff

SEATTLE – The University of Washington men’s soccer team has added assistant coach Ryan Fahey to its staff, head coach Jamie Clark announced today. Fahey joins the Husky program after three seasons as the associate head coach at the UConn.

“Our program is very fortunate to add Ryan to the coaching staff,” Clark said. “His resume speaks for itself, as he’s enjoyed great success coaching at a lot of the top programs in the country.

“What’s more important to me is the fact that he’s one of the best mentors a college player could ever hope for. He cares about his players, has great energy and will be someone that our team connects with, and grows from his coaching.”

This past season at UConn, Fahey helped lead the Huskies to nine wins and their first BIG EAST Tournament appearance since 2019. Primarily working with the goalkeepers, Fahey oversaw the development of Jayden Hibbert who was selected 19th overall in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft. Hibbert made 41 saves while holding opponents to a 1.45 goals against average and recorded three shutouts.

Fahey also served as head coach of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS). In his first full season with the Stags, the program finished with their first undefeated regular season in SCIAC play since 1994. For his staff’s efforts, they were named the SCIAC Coach Staff of the Year.

Prior to CMS, Fahey had stops at Notre Dame and Dartmouth.

While at Dartmouth, Fahey helped develop 35 All-Ivy League accolades, including one All-American and two Academic All-Americans. Dartmouth also claimed Ivy League championships in four seasons while Fahey was on staff. During his time with The Big Green, four players signed professional contracts with Major League Soccer and the United Soccer League.

As a player, Fahey competed for CMS where he was a two-time First Team All-SCIAC and a Third Team National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Far West selection. He also led the team to a SCIAC title and a NCAA Tournament appearance in 2009.

“Ryan grew up in the Seattle area and knows what the ‘W’ means to people in this state,” Clark added. “He understands that we have built this program by keeping the top local guys at home and will be huge in making sure this continues.”

Originally from Bellevue, Washington, Fahey attended Interlake High School. He graduated from Claremont McKenna in 2010 with a degree in history. He holds a United Soccer Coaches Advanced Diploma and United Soccer Coaches…
