  • Ismaila Sarr is a top target for Crystal Palace, with Marseille open to sell
  • The Senegal winger joined the French side from Watford last summer
  • Marseille could use funds from any sale towards signing Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah

Crystal Palace have reportedly agreed personal terms with Marseille and Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr.

Mail Sport previously reported that the Eagles were boosted by news that the French club would be open to sell the 26-year-old.

Sarr joined Marseille last summer after four years at Watford, with reports suggesting Palace have pursued the player for more than six years.

The Eagles are keen to bolster their attacking ranks, after Michael Olise joined Bayern Munich earlier in the window.

It has now been reported by the Athletic that Palace and Sarr have agreed terms over a four-year contract, though the Eagles are ‘apart on their valuation of the winger’ with his current club Marseille.

Marseille announced on Monday that new loan signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg would wear Sarr’s No 23 shirt next season.

The French side have already recruited in attack by signing Mason Greenwood from Manchester United in a £27m deal plus £3.2m in add-ons.

Marseille could use funds from any sale of Sarr towards signing Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, who they are interested in signing.

A move to South London wouldn’t be alien to Sarr, having already spent four years in England playing for Watford.

He scored 34 goals and provided 22 assists in 131 games for the Hornets, between 2019 and 2023.

Sarr made 35 appearances all competitions in his debut season with Marseille, scoring four goals.

The winger is believed to want to stay in France, but is open to joining a Premier League club again.

Palace have signed Chadi Riad and Daichi Kamada this summer, with Ryan Sessegnon on trial with the club following his release from Tottenham Hotspur.
