🎥 Philadelphia put on stunning first-half display to break out of slump

The Philadelphia Union have been one of the worst teams in MLS as of late. They came into tonight’s fixture against New England without a win in 10 straight matches, and only one win in their last 17.

But they are well on their way towards taking their first step back towards some sort of momentum.

After an early Tai Baribo goal from close-range, Jakob Glesnes put a perfect header into the back of the net from a set-piece, doubling the Union’s lead — but was only the start of the fireworks in Chester.

In the dying minutes of the first-half, the Union extended their lead with a stunning team move that started all the way back in their own box, capped off by a slick Baribo finish to bag his brace.

The Union have been in free-fall as of late, but luckily for them they play in Major League Soccer. Despite the slump they can move to within three points of an MLS Cup Playoff spot should they hold onto their lead this evening.
