TAMPA, Fla. – Chattanooga Red Wolves SC forward Ropapa Mensah has been voted USL League One Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball for April with four goals and one assist. Mensah’s first Player of the Month honor is the fourth for Chattanooga.
“I’m humbled and grateful to receive this award, and I’m completely overwhelmed and honored to be named Player of the Month,” Mensah said. “Thank you to my teammates, coaches and the entire team for the support and hard work. This award is not just a recognition of my individual performance but also a testament to our team’s dedication and teamwork.”
Mensah enjoyed a magical April, leading all players with five goal contributions on the month. The Ghanaian forward notched four goals – primarily via his first professional hat trick which came against Central Valley on April 13 – and one assist. In an undefeated 1-0-1 month for the Red Wolves, Mensah also added 25 duels won, nine shots, five recoveries and two dribbles completed. Across 180 minutes, Mensah’s 2.23 goals scored above expected were the most on the month, according to American Soccer Analysis.
“Ropapa has had a great start to the season, scoring goals and being a major positive for us on and off the pitch,” Chattanooga Head Coach Scott Mackenzie said. “We know that this is only the start and he is primed for an incredible year. There is definitely more to come from him.”
