Memphis 901 FC News Release
Sacramento, Calif. – Memphis 901 FC fell to Sacramento Republic 1-0 in a physical Western Conference matchup on Saturday night at Heart Health Park.
Saturday’s match saw 10 yellow cards between the two clubs before a late goal by Sacramento decided the result.
Sacramento found a fortunate goal in the 88th minute as a cross bounced off of Jonathan Ricketts’ chest into the net for the match-winning score.
Memphis had their best chance in the 77th minute of the match as Dylan Borczak used a backheel pass to lay it out for a Bruno Lapa strike that forced a spectacular save from the Sacramento goalkeeper. Memphis drops to 1-2-0 in the young season with the loss.
