Lights FC Announce New Coaching Staff & Initial Player Signings for 2023 Season

Las Vegas, NV – Las Vegas, NV – Las Vegas Lights FC today announced it has added four new players to its 2024 roster: defenders Gennaro Nigro and Hayden Sargis; midfielder JC Ngando; and forward Khori Bennett. Bennett and Nigro join the Club as new signings while Ngando (Vancouver Whitecaps FC) and Sargis (D.C. United) join the Lights on loan for the 2024 USL-Championship season. All four transactions are pending league and federation approval.

Nigro, 23, previously played for Real Monarchs (MLS NEXT Pro) after beginning his professional career in Europe with Italian side Potenza Calcio (Potenza) back in 2020. Playing primarily at leftback, Nigro is a New Jersey born, New York Red Bull Academy product joins the Lights having made 14 appearances with Real Monarchs in 2023. Previously, Nigro appeared 20 times for Italian powerhouse AS Roma’s Under-19 team.

Sargis, 21, has made 61 USL-Championship appearances since 2020, including gaining experience with League sides Sacramento FC (33 appearances) Loudoun United FC (21), and Phoenix Rising (7), playing the overwhelming majority of matches at centerback. Last season, Sargis recorded two Lamar Hunt US Open Cup appearances for D.C. United and made two MLS regular season appearances while earning three appearances for Loudoun United.

Ngando, 24, was originally selected by Whitecaps FC as a Generation Adidas player 13th overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. During his rookie season, he made 14 appearances in all competitions with the first team, including the MLS regular season, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship, and Leagues Cup.

Bennett, 26, previously laced-up for USL-1 side Charlotte Independence and notched six goals in 30 appearances in 2023 as well as recording a goal in two US Open Cup appearances for the same side last year. Over the last two seasons in Charlotte, Bennett has scored 17 goals and added three assists in regular-season action with the majority of his matches coming in starts at forward.

Las Vegas Lights FC will kick off its new campaign on Saturday, March 9 when it visits Memphis 901 FC before its home opener against FC Tulsa on Saturday, March 16 at Cashman Field.
