NEW YORK – To celebrate the Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs and the journey to the MLS Cup, a giant replica of The Philip F. Anschutz Trophy will make its first appearance at Washington Park in Cincinnati from November 22-26. The giant trophy will land in the hometown of FC Cincinnati as the winner of the 2023 Supporters’ Shield, an award given to the MLS team with the best overall regular season record by the supporters. FC Cincinnati and the Philadelphia Union will go head-to-head at the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Saturday, November 25.
The Philip F. Anschutz Trophy is awarded to each season’s MLS Cup champion. The giant replica stands 15 ft. tall and serves as a traveling marketing activation giving fans a unique experience to snag photos, receive giveaways, and celebrate and drive excitement for their team, playoffs, and MLS Cup.
This is the seventh year of the giant trophy activation. The activation launches at the Conference Semifinals and the trophy is placed in an iconic and noteworthy destination in a select match-host city. In the past, the trophy has made stops at the Santa Monica Pier, Pike Place Market, among other landmarks. Upon the completion of the Conference Semifinals, the trophy will make its next stop at a Conference Finals host city then culminating at a city hosting the MLS Cup.
